Third Class Enjoy Hurling and Camogie Blitz at St Fechin’s GAA

23rd Jun 2026

Third Class had a fantastic day at St Fechin’s GAA, taking part in a hurling and camogie blitz held in honour of Niall McEneaney. The event was a wonderful opportunity to promote hurling and camogie and to give many children the chance to try these exciting sports for the very first time.

The children showed great enthusiasm, skill, and determination throughout the day. They quickly picked up the new skills involved and enjoyed putting them into practice in a fun and friendly environment. It was also a great opportunity to meet pupils from other schools and make new friends. They were also awarded a special award for best use of 'Gaeilge' during the matches.

Finally they got to meet Paul Matthews who is one of the stars of the Louth Senior Football Team, but also an brilliant hurler for St Fechins, showing you can do both. A huge thank you to St Fechin’s GAA for inviting us to such a well-organised and enjoyable event. We had a brilliant day and look forward to taking part again next year.
