The sky was clear and blue as we set out on our fishing trip. We had rented out a small, white fishing boat for the day. When we were out, we caught plenty of fish like, Mackerel, Haddock and a few cod. As I was fishing I heard a shout from my dad “STORM” When I heard that, I ran into the wheelhouse. It was coming at us fast. We were too far out to get back to the harbour before the storm got to us. Suddenly the waves were high and the wind was strong. Our little boat would never survive the storm. All you could hear was the whistling of the wind, the creaking of the boat and the crashing of the waves up against the boat.
Then fate seemed to catch up with us. The boat had taken too much- it had taken it’s last move. We began to sink. Dad let off two flares. I was sure we were going to die. In the distance I saw an orange and blue boat coming swiftly towards us. It was the lifeboat, we were saved! The lifeboat men carried my dad and me onto the lifeboat.
We headed for home where my mam was waiting anxiously for us. I was extremely happy to get home safely. That night I prayed to God about how frightening it was and thanked him for bringing us both safely home. Ronan (11)

MY WISH IN THE BIG BLUE SEA
If I had a fairy godmother I know exactly what I would do. I would ask her to give me ever lasting lungs and to put me in the middle of the ocean so I could swim with the dolphins, but it didn’t turn out as I suspected. When I was dropped into the ocean first thing I saw was a dolphin in a net. I swam over and started pulling at the net. Finally the net broke open and the dolphin swam free. I started playing with the dolphin. But after a while I started to notice that there were no other dolphins around this part of the ocean. At that very moment I knew I would have to help the dolphin find it’s family and I knew I was in for an adventure. We swam for the East. About a minute later I was fatigued. I couldn’t keep up with him, so I held onto his back and he swam and swam and boy was he fast. By the time we got to the old ship where his family had rested the night before it was dark and it wasn’t going to get any better because I thought I had seen a group of sharks closing in on us. They seemed to be forming a circle. At last one of them swam over to the dolphin and they started speaking in their fish kind of language. Then the dolphin swam over to me I jumped on his back and off we went again. This time heading for the South. It was morning and we were in SwordTown. The dolphin’s mam and family were in this town somewhere. The dolphin tried asking other fish, where his family was. One fish told him that his family was in the fishmotel. At once we swam over to it. They were in room ten. We swam up the stairs well the dolphin swam up the stairs. I took the elevator. We reached at the same time and went in. The dolphin’s family. We had found them at last. Barry
