FOURTH CLASS 2006-2007

Our Class Trip to the Beach

Ms. Murphy asked Mr. McGinnity if the class could go to the beach. Fourth class walked to the Clogherhead beach in groups of two. The children talked to their partners on the way down. We saw a long-haired woman with three small dogs on leads. When we reached the beach Ms. Murphy told us to collect shells for our art in class. We were not allowed to cross the stream. When we finished collecting we were allowed to play around for a few minutes. Ms. Murphy called us to gather in a circle and talk about what we had collected.

Then we went and played a game of football together. The red team won. We got a present of some pink and white marshmallows from Ms. Slevin and we ate them there. Arnolds and Grant dug a very deep hole in the sand. The hole was so deep that there was water in the bottom of it! Everybody gathered around the hole to see how deep it was. Some of the boys washed their hands in it.

Ms. Murphy told us to gather our belongings and bring them back to the school. Everyone walked back after a most wonderful time at the beach.
